The Working Songwriter Podcast

Hi All.  Long time no talk.  As I’m currently cranking away on my next project I’m staying motivated and inspired by a lot of amazing music related content here on the internet.

There’s a lot of stuff out there and it’s challenging to sort through it all and find the good ones but I’m glad I stumbled across this gem.  Singer and songwriter Joe Pug has put together a great podcast called “The Working Songwriter”.  Joe is a great interviewer and he coaxes some really insightful and fascinating stuff out of some of the best songwriters in the business today.  Check it out but be careful cause as Joe says it may give you just another “ironclad excuse to put off actually writing.”

I just finished reading “Pickers and Poets: The Ruthlessly Poetic Singer Songwriters of Texas” by Craig Clifford and Craig D. Hillis.  It’s a collection of essays on the topic of Texas songwriters.  If you’re a fan of Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Ray Wylie Hubbard, or just good lyric rich songwriting, I’m certain you’ll enjoy the read.
